Claxton Fowler was born on February 28,1937, from Washington County, in Harrison Georgia, to the late Jammie Lee and Mazzie- Cannida Fowler. He passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his residence with his wife at his bedside.
At an early age he joined the Springfield African Methodist Episcopal Church in Harrison Georgia. He attended the public schools of Washington County in Harrison Georgia. Claxton was the ninth child of ten children. He was the last sibling survivor of the Fowler’s legacy. Claxton later moved to Florida to be closer to his sister’s and chose Jacksonville to call his home. He was an enthusiastic about professional wrestling and often attended the events at the arena with his children. He was a handyman by trade and was flattered, influential and “Territorial “about his cars.
Claxton was employed with the Jacksonville Shipyard and retired thereafter dedicating over thirty-five years of service. It was there on the Eastside of Jacksonville where he met and married the love of his life, both faithful and devoted: Roslyn Raysor for over sixty years. To their union five children were born. Two of which preceded him in death, eldest son, Terry L. Fowler and youngest, Terrance L. Fowler (Spank); his great- grandson, Jordan Terry Myles; and alongside him his son-in-law, Cal E. Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and faithful wife, Roslyn Raysor-Fowler; his children, daughters, Judy Steward of Dublin Georgia, Kathy Palmer, sons, Bruce Fowler, Claxton Fowler Jr. (Skip), and devoted baby girl, Stacy Fowler-Jones; ten grandchildren, Ne’Kesia Shack, Sha’kita Fowler-Henderson, Angelique Fowler-Myles of Huntsville Alabama, Anthony Shack, Jr. (AJ), Roneshia Butler, Cha’Kia Jones (his Kia-Rabbit), Javarius Steward, Shemar Steward, Keyana Fowler and Kaleb Fowler (T.J.); nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Raysor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
