Lula Clention Obituary

Lula Bell Randall-Clention, a beloved soul born on June 23, 1929, in Albany, Georgia, peacefully laid her crown at the Lord's feet on March 15, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Her life, marked by quiet strength and unwavering love of family, touched the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

Lula Bell's journey was one of service and commitment. She dedicated years of service as a member of the American Legion Post #244 and even maintained the status of her grandchildren for years. She worked for the Culinary Department of Duval County Public Schools, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Her impact extended beyond the workplace, as she found solace and joy in her faith as a cherished member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Reverend Dr. Jonathan Blackburn.

Not only did Lula Bell find fulfillment in her spiritual life, but she also cherished the simple pleasures that brought her closer to her family and friends. Whether she was preparing her famous macaroni and cheese for the family gatherings, tackling crossword puzzles with determination, or singing sweet lullabies to any baby within reach, her presence radiated comfort and love.

Lula Bell's departure leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her memory will forever serve as a beacon of hope and preservation of family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose love and support knew no bounds. Her legacy will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to have known her.

On the day she surrendered her earthly crown, Lula Bell was reunited with her beloved grandmother, Queen Randall; mother, Charity Bruce; along with her cherished siblings, Adella Brooks, Vinnie Payge, Mary Etta Bruce, Charity Mae Bruce, Laura Nichols, Curtis Bruce, and George Bruce. Though she is gone from our sight, her spirit lives on through her daughters, Cylynn Johns, Janice Brooks-Norris, and Alma Harris. She is survived by her sister, Minerva Tucker, grandchildren, Lateria Brooks, Tamara Ware, Odell Theo Johns, IV, Fallon Johns, Ashley Lott, Holland Harris, Jr., Devin Harris, Lexus Brooks, and Jaida Brooks; great grandchildren, Saterial Kinard, Tamauriance Brown, Lauren Tatum, Kaylia Brooks, Brandon Brown, Zayniah Brown, Ashton Lott, Aryn Lott, Devin Harris, Jr., Jameah Merrill, Isaiah Harris, Jassiah Merrill, Loryn Harris, and Ezra Harris; great-great grandchildren, Brylah Roberts, Sa'Bryah Roberts, Bryloh Roberts, and Sameerah Heyward; sister-in-love, Annie Bentley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and many sorrowing friends who mourn her loss deeply.

As we celebrate the life of Lula Bell Randall-Clention, let us find comfort in the precious memories we carry and the enduring love she shared. May her soul find serenity in the eternal embrace of her heavenly home.
