Alfred Lavergne

Alfred LaVergne passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on January 28, 1946 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Walter LaVergne and Cecelia Gullory LaVergne.

Alfred worked for IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers), Local 25 out of Tampa, Florida. He retired in 2006. After years of working in various cities. He loved basketball, boxing and football, especially the Oakland Raiders.

Alfred was preceded in death by his sisters, Lenora Johnson, Mary Santos and Eltra Bellard; and brothers, Lenier LaVergne and John LaVergne.  

Alfred leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Vera LaVergne; brothers, Joseph Norman, Joseph Carey and Ronald LaVergne; sisters, Nelma Stevens and Roma Nell Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
