Ms. Annie Mae Brown was one of nine children born to Arthur and Savannah Robinson on January 30, 1922 in Moultrie, Georgia. She was a beautiful, giving, hard-working, loving and wise daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Raised in various towns in Georgia, Annie Mae left home at about age 19 to live with her sisters in Jacksonville, Florida. She was married to Judson Brown, Jr. and bore one child, a daughter, Betty Jean. Divorced after 14 years of marriage, she dedicated herself to raising her daughter. She has also blessed her three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a domestic worker until she completed CNA training. At age 62, Annie Mae retired from St. Luke’s Hospital.
Annie Mae was humble before the Lord Jesus Christ and served as a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church and most recently Great Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Sunday and Wednesday night services. She was a member of Faith Sunday School class.
Annie Mae enjoyed playing checkers and other games and often won prizes at the adult daycare center she attended. A rare beauty with the gift of storytelling, she enjoyed traveling and especially loved attending the Robinson Family Reunion each July.
On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 Annie Mae’s sweet spirit was tenderly removed from our midst to be with the lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Henrietta Johnson, Effie Robinson and Louise Robinson; brothers, Arthur Robinson, Jr., Albert Robinson and Rudolph Robinson. Annie Mae leaves to cherish precious memories, her devoted daughter, Betty J.
