Arlexi Carlisle Obituary

Arlexi Leroy Carlisle affectionately to many as “Lex” was born on August 19, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Leroy Stokes (Janis G. Stokes) and Abigail Carlisle. In his youth Arlexi was a member of Glorious Bethlehem Temple Church where he received the Baptism in Jesus name. Growing up Arlexi was the jokester and always had something funny to say.

Lex would light up any room he entered with his beautiful smile and white teeth, as well as his personality. No matter where he went he knew someone there or left an impression. He was educated in the Jacksonville Public School District where he graduated from Sandlewood High School. After graduation Lex enlisted in the United States Army where he served 3 years before receiving an Honorable Discharge. During his time off from work he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved being an awesome husband and loving father.

He would often visit the Landing where he loved line dancing and attending the attractions being featured. He, Aaliyah and Jihan enjoyed their daddy and daughters time. Lex was a kind person and very generous and was the life of the party among his family and friends whom enjoyed his company.

Lex was married to Lisa Gavin and from this union they have one daughter, Jihan Arlexi. Lex enjoyed working and being a good provider for his family. He was an employee of Republic Services until the time of his passing on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Prior to his passing Lex had a great love for his new home, for his family, and he loved his Jeep and was often cruising it along with his family. He had a love for fashion with everything matching from head to toe; and loved his boots and flip-flops. His hair was neatly groomed and cologne to perfect his image.

Lex has touched so many lives, he was a great friend loved by all and family was special in his heart. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Lisa (Bae); beautiful daughters, Aaliyah and Jihan; stepchildren, Kia and Curry; mother Janis Stokes; brothers, Jamell (Quita), Michael and Matthew; sisters, Victoria (Talvi), Kim and Brenda (Adrian); father-in-law, Robert Gavin of Lumberton, NC; three sisters-in-law, Donna R. Johnson (Ronald), Laura Jones (Tony) and Miriam Gavin all from Philly, PA; brother-in-law, Cecil Gavin (Denita); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who are so special to name a few, Valencia, Derrick, Karen, Josh, Tyrone, Julie, Aimee, Sandra, Tenecia, Shaneka, Avery and Monica; and a precious Angel who was Lex EMT at his side during his final moments, whispering Jesus, Erika Mathenia. Special love by his Republic Services Employer/Arlexi work family and Goodwill.
