Betty Mae Askin

Mrs. Betty Beauford Askin was born on July, 6, 1929. At the time of her transition, she was 88 years old. Her parents were the late Eugene and Anncie Bush. Mrs. Askin took pride in being the 7th child of 14 other siblings.

During her lifetime, she spanned a few careers. However, she retired from the Naval Air Station Hospital as a Civil Service Worker in June, 1982.

She relocated from Richland, Georgia to Jacksonville, Florida in 1958. She was a faithful member of The Greater Mount Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Wherein she also served faithfully on the Missionary Board.

Mrs. Askin was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Askin; and son, Eddie Jean Beauford.

Left to cherish and appreciate her legacy is her daughter, Barbara B. Daniels (Henry) of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Edward Bush (Carolyn) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Tonya Smith of Statesboro, GA and Sharon Owens of Boston, MA; grandson, Basil Tyrone Watts, Jr. of Dallas, TX; and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
