Carla Denise Walker

Carla Denise Walker was born August 10, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Nathaniel Taylor and Catherine Ricks. She was educated in the Duval County Schools graduating from First Coast High School.

Carla was united in Holy Matrimony to the Love of her Life Mr. Arthur Walker, Sr. on April 3, 1999. Together they raised their beautiful children and grandchildren. She loved watching college bands, especially the Drum Major of Jackson Five; she also enjoyed Jazz music, going to the beach and was always up for a long-distance drive only to get lost and finding her way back.

Carla answered her call peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Taylor; and several siblings. She will be remembered as a person who loved her family and friends and enjoyed life

Carla leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Alfred Walker, Sr.; children, John Thomas, III, Jonisha Thomas, Collisa Marchbanks, Alfred Walk, Jr. (Samantha), and Jonathan Walker (Donna); mother, Catherine Ricks; grandchildren, Nattiel Walker, Nivea Walker, Cameron Rybak and Isaiah Grayer; four sisters, Gwendolyn Maddox, Donetta Franklin (Edward), Sandra Givens (Eddie) and Eleanor Ricks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and many sorrowing friends.
