Earnest Powell

Earnest Powell was born on May 6, 1937 in Blackville, South Carolina to the late Willie and Geneva Powell. He attended the local schools of Duval County graduating from Douglas Anderson High School.

Earnest was a faithful member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He loved sports and was a professional Plaster.  

On Monday, January 13, 2020 Earnest quietly made his eternal transition to be with our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Powell; parents, Willie and Geneva Powell; and siblings, Willie Powell, Jr., Annie Ruth McBride, Sarah Hall Payton and James Powell.

Earnest leaves to mourn his passing but to cherish his memories, his son, Alvin Williams (Mary); daughter, Darlene Jerry; grandchildren, Sherika Williams, Akin Williams, Tekeshia Minus, Dante’ Andrew and Jimmy Johnson; siblings, Helen Hawk (James) and Louise Smith (Alvin); sister-in-law, Ernestine Williams; special buddy/nephew, Predolia Williams, III; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
