Ernestine Powell-Lowe

April 24, 1950 ~ December 25, 2018 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Sister Ernestine Powell Lowe was born on April 24, 1959 in Gretna, Florida to the late Brother William Jones and the late Johnnie Mae Jones. She received her formal education in the public schools of Duval County and was a graduate of Fletcher Senior High.

Ernestine was united in Holy Matrimony to Derrek Anthony Lowe. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years, where she loved helping people.

Tina as she was affectionately known by family and friends loved having family and friends over. She a diva at heart, loved cooking and enjoyed life while being fashionable at the same time.

On Tuesday, December 25, 2018 God called her home to rest. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Johnnie Mae Jones; brother, Corey Jones; and aunts, Marie George and Mattie Bell.

Tina leaves behind a legacy of love, a loving and devoted husband, Derrek “Anthony” Lowe; children, Erica L. Powell Jones and De’Angelo Powell; stepchildren, Elanda Johnson, Anthony Elijah Johnson, Kashawn Lowe, Neidita Lowe, Derek Lowe, Jr., and Neida Lowe; grandchildren, Yasemin Suggs and Tre’Vonn Jones; siblings, Marvis Jones (Wanda), Evangelist Nellie Jones-Barrett (Roy) and Barry Jones (Celestine); aunts and uncles, James George, James Singleton, Leon Singleton, Carolyn Blackman (Joseph), Marilyn Johnson (Marvin), Ruby Smith, Essie Bethea-Gipson (Hubert) and  Mary Alice Green; cousins, Francine Parker (Albert) and Regina Penn (Guy); two sons-in-law, Larry Jones, Jr. and Terrance M. Suggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, in-laws, and many sorrowing friends.
