Eva Hawk Moore

December 5, 1936 ~ April 21, 2018 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Eva G. Hawk-Moore was born on December 5, 1936 to the late Albert Hawk and Annie C. Robinson Hawk in Cuthbert, Georgia. Her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida at an early age. Eva accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

She attended the Public Schools of Duval County and was a graduate of New Stanton High School in 1955. She went on to complete her education and training at Brewster Hospital to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at other local hospitals and also in Boston, Massachusetts. He oldest child, Bernard was born while she lived in Boston. Eva would later return to Jacksonville to care for her ailing mother.

After her mother’s death, Eva would move from the current “New Town” area to the Eastside. Here she met and married Ben Moore and two children, Darlene and Benjamin were born from this union. She would watch her children attend and graduate from the Public Schools in Duval County; each becoming successful in their endeavors.

In 2012, Eva fell ill to a stroke and eventually became a resident of Regents Park Nursing Facility.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Moore; and her siblings, Johnnie C. Hawk, Ronnie Hawk, Clara Hawk Wells and Calvin Hawk.

She leaves behind her devoted children, Bernard Hawk, Sr., Darlene Parker (Robert) and Benjamin Moore; four grandchildren, Bernard Hawk, II (Alison), LaDeidre Forehand, Caleb Parker and Jason Parker; three great grandchildren, Alaysia Hawk, Nadia Hawk and Tiana Hawk; two brothers, Albert T. Hawk and James Hawk; two sisters, Patricia Mathews and Jacquelyn Shepherd (Johnnie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
