Harold Persaud Obituary

Mr. Harold Hari Persaud was born to Marjorie Estee Laning-Gonsalves and Hari-Persaud Latchman on November 25th, 1934. Harold lived most of his youth life in Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, later moved to Guyana, where he joined his mom and dad Joseph Gonsalves. Harold was the eldest of seven siblings.

Whiles attending Saint Georges High School, Harold met and courting Yvonne Veronica Clarke, and after the graduated immediately married on December 17th, 1954. Over 70 years of loving and sharing togetherness.

Harold was a loving husband, the world greatest father and the “jack of all trades”. You name it he did it, exceeded at everything he did. He was blessed to travel the world spreading hearts of kindness. Harold was sincerely loved by all that was blessed to have met him.

Harold migrated to the United States of America with his wife, children and grandchildren on April 8th, 1984 to New York. Harold later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, He experimented with commercial fishing, warehouse work and decided at a young age it was time to retire from Dura Industries of Jacksonville, to enjoy life with his wife and family.  Harold stood tall, very independent, a great provider, and was blessed that he maintained, never had to say please or thank you. We can still hear him saying “it’s okay, everything alright” & “you’re welcome”.

Harold was a perfectionist with every endeavor; love hard, no room for failure or excuses not to succeed.  Harold enjoyed long drives, sightseeing, traveling, music and movies, yes he loved movies.

As much as Harold love life, family and friend, when he heard the music of Haven, he danced his way to heaven’s door and decided that paradise is where he wanted to stay.

Left cherished memories are his children, Sangerine Rose (Ian), Donnap, Richardo (Teresa), Andre (Chandra), Debbie, the late Carlos (Phelp) and Harriet (Precious). Harold was blessed with so many grandchildren, Shawn, Niko, Odella (Donald), Haresh, Andre Jr. (Robin), Jorrel (Linda), Nigel, Errol, Nerrisa, Rico, Tommy, Sunney, Refino, Teven and Marques; and endless great grands; his siblings, Norma, Yvonne, Cicil (Jennifer) and Richard (Diana); and his sister-in-law, Nellie Houston & Howard Knights. Harold left several nieces, nephews, so much family, relatives and friends.
