Hattie Mae Ballard

June 1, 1948 ~ May 9, 2018 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Sister Hattie Mae Ballard was born to the late Joddie Ballard, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Ballard in Jacksonville, Florida on June 1, 1948. She attended the local schools of Duval County.

Hattie received Christ as her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. She lived in Texas for over 20 years before returning home to reside on Jacksonville Beach. She was a faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  

She later in life married, James Walker, Jr. and from this union one son was born. She loved to share the word of God with her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing and singing.

God saw fit to send his Angel of death into the room of Sister Hattie Mae Ballard with its love and tender care to relieve her from the troubles of this world. On Wednesday Evening, May 9, 2018 Hattie Mae Ballard stepped into Glory to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joddie Ballard, Sr. and Elizabeth Ballard; sister, Dorothy E. Wyche; brothers, Willie Frank Ballard and Walter Clark Ballard; and niece, Teresa Cade.

She leaves to mourn her passing but to cherish her memories, son, James Walker, III (Nicosia); one grandson, James Walker, IV; one granddaughter, Brea Smart; one brother, Joddie Ballard, Jr. (Deborah); two sisters, Debra Hodges McBride and Tracy Hodges; one aunt, Annie F. Perry; nieces and nephews, Michael Ballard, Sr. (Bessie), Lonnie Sessions, Jr. (Patricia), Wayne Sessions (Debra), Ella Mildred Jolly (Andre), Avia Owens, Bridgette Brookes, Charles Ballard, Latonya Green, Amanda Mitchell (Daniel), Startet Hodges, Steve Hodges and Anthony Hodges;  and a host of grand nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, church family, classmates and many sorrowing friends.
