Hazel K. Glass

Mother Hazel Glass was the third daughter of Sidney and Laura Ann Kepney. Born on August 13, 1925 in East Point, LA. She attended the local schools of East Pointe, LA and later moved to Shreveport, LA where she met and married Zeke Glass, Jr.  and to this union five boys and three girls were born.

She moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1980 where she became a member of Southside Church of God in Christ. She worked as a sales lady at Palis Royal Department Store in Shreveport, LA. She also worked at Southside COGIC Daycare and was a member of the choir, usher board and mother of the church. She has helped raise a lot of children, everyone she kept has called her “Mom”.

She departed this life on Saturday, April 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeke Glass; and son, Roylee Glass.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Thelma Coleman of Macon, GA, Dorothy Johnson of Jacksonville, FL and Selma King of Jacksonville, FL; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Glass (Alberta), Billy Ray Glass (Gloria) and Victor Glass; two brothers, Charles Kepney (Joyce) of Austin, TX and James Kepney (Rosalyn) of California;  and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
