Kevin Horsley Sr. Obituary

Kevin Dwayne Horsley, Sr., 56, was born on July 23, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan to James Carwell Horsley and the Late Betty Jean Horsley.

Kevin, Sr. graduated from Redford High School in Detroit, Michigan class of 1980. In 1983, he joined the United States Navy where he served for 10 years as a Mess Management Specialist/E5. In the year 1983, he married Juanita Jackie Walls and together they had three children, Kevin DeWayne Horsley Jr., Kenita Sunray Horsley and Keith Devon Horsley. He later remarried to Dorothy Jean Jenkins and together they had one child, Kerron Michelle Horsley (Williams).

In 1993, Kevin, Sr. ended his career in the military and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he began his career of managing and supervising multiple trade warehouses. He also used this time to devote himself to his children and family. He also made a host of friends and enjoyed being a member of a local bowling team.

Kevin, Sr. is survived by four children, Kevin Horsley, Jr., Kenita Horsley, Keith Horsley and Kerron (Nathaniel) Williams; six grandchildren, Kevin Horsley, Nathaniel Williams, III, Kameron Horsley, London Williams, Laia Williams, Krystain Horsley and one on the way; his siblings, Joanna Wilson, Bernard Horsley, Daryl Horsley, Andrea Horsley and Lamont Horsley; his brothers, Arthur Harvey, Sr., James Horsley, Jr., Raymond Horsley and Derrick Horsley all preceded him in death; he left to cherish in his loving memory, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and his very close cousin, LaShanta “Black” McCray (Julius).
