Welcome to the memorial page for

Lucy K. Robinson

August 15, 1938 ~ April 24, 2018 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Lucy Harden Robinson was born August 15, 1938 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Mr. Isaac Harden and the late Mrs. Lorena Ruff Harden. She was raised in Buckhead, Georgia until the age of 14 when her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia.  She was a caring and giving person. She was known for her style, exquisite attire, and the hats that she wore. Yes, it is true you would rarely see her in the same outfit twice or the same hat twice for that matter. But that’s not who she was. That was just what she wore.

Family meant everything to her and she was very passionate about her grandchildren. She certainly was the glue that held the family together. She always had, dinners, gatherings, or some soiree. Ensuring everyone got together and enjoyed one another. She continued this tradition when she moved to Jacksonville.

Affectionately known as “Aunt Duchess”……she was that one aunt that everyone loved to be around because she always made her nieces and nephews feel good about themselves.

She came to know the Lord in 1981 and was a dedicated member of the Church of Atlanta Lighthouse under the leadership of Bishop Michael D. Spires until she met her husband George Robinson. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1994 where she attended Southside Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr.

She departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She joins her husband, George Robinson, Jr., her mother, father, one sister, two brothers, and her daughter, Janice E. Harden, who passed away in 2010.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Lenora Harden Burrell (Ted) and Deidre Harden White (Marvin); two step children, Faith Robinson-Smith (Brice) and George Robinson III; three grandchildren, Julius L. Gaillard, Jr. (Ashley), Carmen E. Gaillard, and Xavius B. Chester; one great grandchild, Camren E. Gaillard; two sisters, Ethelene Clark and Peggy A. Grimes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Southside is serving the family.
