Melvin McDaniel

Mr. Melvin McDaniel was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late yet proud Akins McDaniel and Bessie Dasher McDaniel on November 23, 1945. He attended Duval County Public School and completed high school at Stanton Vocational.

After high school he served in the United States Army during Vietnam Era. He worked at the Jacksonville General Motors Plant for over 20 years and retired in 2006.

Mr. McDaniel accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. Melvin was a proud dad, loving uncle, nephew, devoted cousin and wonderful friend to all he met. He was known for his charming personality, listening ear and earnest wisdom. He will live on in our hearts forever.

On Sunday, June 2, 2019, Melvin took his wings and went to glory after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Bessie Dasher McDaniel; loving father, Akins McDaniel; and brother, Akins McDaniel, III.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla McDaniel; son, Kevin McDaniel; sister, Faye McDaniel; nieces, Cierra McDaniel and Ronisha Moore; nephew, Cedrick McDaniel; great niece, Kiyanna Rivers; and a host of cousin, family and friends.
