Missionary Barbara Ann Fleming

May 20, 1955 ~ November 22, 2018 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Barbara Ann Hayes Fleming was born on May 20, 1955 to Shermen Hayes and Mable Hayes in Winona, Mississippi. She graduated from Minneapolis Technical College achieving a Business Certification.

Barbara was married to James E. Fleming for 45 years. James and Barbara were high school sweet hearts and married very early. They resided in Winona, Mississippi, for a short time after marriage.  They decided to move to Minneapolis, MN in the late 1970’s.

Barbara attended her home church “Healing Temple” in Winona, Mississippi, but once she moved to MN she joined Grace Temple Church of God in Christ where she was a faithful member for more than 20 years.  Barbara was employed by Prudential Insurance Company, she had a great career where she quickly advanced in positions.  Barbara was an underwriter for Prudential which is what lead her to move to Jacksonville FL in 1996.

After moving to Florida, she joined Southside Church of God in Christ where she was a faithful member. She retired from Prudential after working for them 30 years.  Barbara was a Missionary, usher, and served in various auxiliaries within the church throughout her life. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, visiting the sick and shut in, assisting with community functions, and most of all spending time with her devoted husband James.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 45 years, James Edward Fleming; children, Eudrecka Durham (Milton), Monica Fleming, Veronica Fleming, James M. Fleming, and Micheal Fleming; grandchildren, Khyrie Fleming, Dae’Zhonna Ross, My-Shyella Fleming, Trevor Durham and Milton Durham, Jr.; parents, Sherman and Mable Hayes (Deceased); siblings, Eddie B. Hobbs (Pat) and Ethel Ree Hall (John); in-laws, Jessie Fleming and Linnie Fleming (Deceased); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
