Olivia Gunn Obituary

Olivia Mae Powell-Gunn was born to Richard A. Powell, Sr. and Harriet Jackson on February 28, 1942 in Quincy, Florida. She attended the local schools. Olivia was raised by her step-father, Walter G. Roberts and grandmother, Fannie Mae Jackson after the death of her mother.

Later in life she met and married Melvin Gunn, Sr. on October 31, 1965 and moved to Tampa, Florida. After residing in Tampa for 20 years she moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1986 where she begin working at Vistakon. She then later married Raymond Rivers.

Olivia received her wings on Monday, October 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Fannie Mary Boykins, Walter Robert, Jr., Charles Robert and Mary Roberts.

Olivia leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Natasha Bentley (Torrey); husband, Raymond Rivers; children, Latonya Robinson (Arthur), Nathaniel Robinson, Jr., Franklin Hayes, Jr., Melvin Gunn, Jr., Darrel Hall and Tyrone Grissett; devoted great-grandchildren, Olivia Bailey and Naterria Brookins; great great grandchildren, Jahbari McGraw, Saiquet McGraw and Zyntonio McGraw; sisters, Julia West (Jackie), Armentha Roberts-Lewis (Rupert), Dale Powel, Darlene Powell and Swertie Powell; brothers, Theodore Roberts (Marsha), Larry Roberts (Sebrina), Tyrone Powell (Ernestine) and Richard Powell, Jr.; godchildren, Keith Wards, Jr., Sherica Harris and Reginald Chappell; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
