Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. I know sometimes, the heart looks for comfort but can't find any. I hope the scriptures found in 2nd Corinthians 1:3-4 , brings you a measure of peace and comfort in your time of sorrow.
Sincerely,
Your Neighbor

No words, can describe the heartbreak that was felt and is felt, when hearing of PaPa's passing. Then I remembered the words spoken by Paul in I Thessalonians 4:13-18, "I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Jesus Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

I take comfort in these words written centuries ago, because they still rain true, because Yah is not a God that can lie. These words are for those who are in Christ, I know if Papa fell asleep in Jesus, those of us in Christ will see him again and he is better off than us for he is with our Lord and Savior. If you aren't in Jesus he offers you the same salvation that Papa chose, he offers you eternal life. Though our mortal bodies may weep, may the spirit within in us rejoice that Papa is alive with Jesus, forever more!!!

Purnell was a very kind and generous person. Whenever you asked for help he would never say no, he was always right there to lend a unselfish helping hand. He was such a blessing in my life and I'm glad I had the opportunity to know a person like him. In my heart, I believe that Purnell went to sleep and woke up in the presence of Jesus.

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds. We will always remember our sweet “Papa.” He was a wonderful grandfather who had a sincere smile and a warm heart. He was always there to help everyone in need; never saying no. He was the salt of the earth; a man who was always obliging, amiable, and generous. Acts 24:15 states “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Rest in peace Papa-you are truly missed and we pray that we will see you again!

Dear family and friends of Mr. Brown, I was touched when reading the obituary of Purnell. He seemed like a truly generous, gentle, and humble man. I can truly feel your pain, because I too have lost many loved ones. The thought that soon, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" has truly brought me great comfort. (John 5:28, 29)

The following video has also provided me with comfort, I hope it will you as well:

A better father and father in law would have been impossible to have. Always there to help his family and especially his grandchildren! One of the most humble human beings we have ever met! When he helped people he did it with a loving spirit and not with a begrudging attitude! We lost a good one, but most important with his attributes we can have comfort knowing that he is a great candidate for the promise God has made concerning coming back in the resurrection! Rest in peace Purnell till we meet again if our attributes meet yours!

Purcell will be missed by all of those who came in contact with him. He was always pleasant and willing to be of help. He was a gentle giant who loved children.
