Ray Grimsley, Sr. Obituary

Ray Anthony Grimsley, Sr.  was born to Grant and Charlotte Grimsley on December 24, 1956. Ray was a graduate of Englewood High School Class of 1975. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1979.

After serving in the military he worked for the Aerial Cable Vision Co.; he then moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He became self-employed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1999 establishing Diverse Networks, Inc. He later expanded to Jacksonville in 2000, where he opened offices in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, Fort Worth, Texas and later in Oviedo, Florida and many other business adventures. In the year 2007 he went into Real Estate until the present. 

Ray was a lifelong member of Saint Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served on the Trustee Board. He was such a blessing to so many ministries of the church.

Ray entered into rest on Friday, February 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Grant and Charlotte Grimsley; one brother, Grant, Jr; and one sister, Charlotte Sutton.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Ray Anthony Grimsley, Jr. and Niavell Billings (Lauren); one daughter, Kandace Grimsley (Deshay Johnson, Fiancée); he will be missed by his grandchildren, Jasmynn Grimsley, Rae Grimsley, Janiya Grimsley, Janari Grimsley, Jaelah Johnson, Niavell Billings, John Billings, Kayla Billings, Sivanna Billings and Phoenix Billings. Ray also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Willie Frank Grimsley, Vernon Grimsley, James Grimsley, Tony Grimsley (Connie) and John Grimsley; his sisters, Laura Tookes (Eddie), Gloria Waters, Barbara Grimsley, Joyce Grimsley (Larry), Brenda Bush (Herman) and Phyllis Covington (Harry). He will also be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
