Rodney Lewis Brown, Sr.

Mr. Rodney Lewis Brown, Sr. (61) passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Northside is serving the family. 
Rodney Lewis Brown, Sr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida on March 30, 1957 to the late Margaret Simpo and Sim Gatrell. He was a 1975 graduate of Samuel W. Wolfson High School where he played football and ran track. He was a long time dedicated employee of Empire Cargo at NAS Jacksonville.He loved listening to old school R & B and rock music, watching sports and was really fond of spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially during family game nights, playing Pokerkeeno and Uno.  Rodney was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Simpo, father, Sim Gatrell, and special friend of the family Kahron Warnke. Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sheila V. Brown; children Melissa, Shaniqua, Rodney, Jr. (Alise), Brittany (Troy), Sherrod (SaToya), and Breeyana (Robert); his 7 grandchildren, Kyle Warnke, Ahlianah Warnke, Ariyah Cousin, Shamaree Brown, Cincere Brown, Rozariah Coney and Brielle Coney; his siblings, Curtiss Brown (Debra), Brenda Newton (Levi), Carrol Simpo-Bartley (Gary), Patricia Sims, Gloria Waters, Edward Sims (Reva), Elliott Sims (Carmilla), Tyrone Waters (Eartha), and Tiffany Smith and a host of other family members and friends
