Romona Brazle Williams passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on January 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Brazle. Romona grew up in New Berlin. She attended Stanton High School. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Her children, grands, and great grands meant everything to her. She was affectionately known as "GiGi". Romona found great joy spending time with all of her family. Let's talk cooking and fishing. Often others would call for recipes (or how to make dressing and potato salad). You could not come to see Romona without eating or taking something with you. Her life passion was fishing be it croaker, whitenings or mullets. Just NO EELS, it's time to go when an eel was caught. I'm sure you all have a fish story or shared a fishing experience. Everybody knew when it was time for the Young and Restless Soap Opera or the News. She cherished her six children, Marilyn Hernandez, Edna Pugh, Edward L. (Pamela), Herbert (deceased), Gary L. (Margit) and Ava Payge; Grandchildren, Lauralyn (Michael) Glover, Linda K. Anthony, Joseph Anthony, Jr., Sabrina (Kenneth) Moore, Denny (Donald) Horne, Esau Pugh, III, Edward L. Williams, III, Alicia L. Williams, Mikel O. Payge, Jr; Grand nieces and nephews, Johnny D. Jones, Jovan X Jones, Kenjuana Moore, London Horne, Elysia Pugh, Shyanna Jones, Simone' Hyman, Zihyon Williams, Kodie, Jr., DaMoni, Davonte Harris, Cordero, Carlito and Kimora Payge; Auntie, Gennie V. Bismore; and a host of cousins, the Brooker Road family, and friends, among them her dear friends, Genetra Critton (Beechie), Frances Payge, and Gladys Jones. Her special friends, Marion and Annette Graham, Ruth Tisby, Alta Cole, and Ms. Freddie Farmer.
