It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert James Bradley, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Albert was born on December 25, 1933, in Mayport, Florida, to Daniel Brown, Sr. and Pauline A. Dudley. He lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Albert was a proud graduate of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, where he set the foundation for a life rich in creativity and passion. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of duty and honor. After his military service, Albert brought his skills to the Naval Base, where he worked as a Pipefitter until his retirement, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A devoted member of the Greater St. Mark Baptist Church in Mayport, Florida, Albert was a man of faith who found solace and strength in his community. He was known for his warm smile and gentle spirit, always offering a helping hand or a word of encouragement to those around him. Albert's faith was a guiding light in his life, inspiring those who knew him to embrace love and kindness.
Albert's greatest pride and joy came from his family. He is survived by his children, Albert Bradley, Melony Bradley-Culpepper, Brenda Jones, Edwin Daniels, Ethel McNeil, Carla McNeil, and Richard McNeil. He was a loving grandfather whose legacy will continue through his children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Albert was also blessed with the love of his siblings: Ella Brown, Willie Brown, Anna Brown Hardy, Frank Brown, Abraham F. Brown, and Mary R. Brown, along with his cherished family members, Paul Bradley, Alvin Thomas, and Henry Jenkins.
Albert's journey was not without sorrow, as he was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline A. Dudley; father, Daniel Brown, Sr.; grandson, Christopher McMullen; siblings, Ruth Bradley, Walter Brown, Sr., Lillian Brown, and Daniel W. Brown; and his nephew, Adrian Bowens. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Albert was a man of many passions. He loved to cook, sing, and dance, often filling the air with music and joy. His kitchen was a gathering place for family and friends, where delicious meals and hearty laughter would abound. Albert had a special gift for bringing people together, and his home was always open, filled with love and warmth.
In his later years, Albert's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to inspire those around him with his resilience and positivity. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
While he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Rest in peace, Albert James Bradley. Your legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the lives of all you touched. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
