Algen Laverne Jones

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend, Algen Jones, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. He was born on Monday January 27, 1964 in Fernandina Beach, FL to the late Betty Lou Jones and Albert Simmons.

Algen was a member of the West Nassau High School Graduating Class of 1982. For over thirty years Algen was employed as a cement mason.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  His hobbies included shooting pool, playing cards, cooking, and most of all fishing.  

Waiting in heaven to greet him; parents, Betty Lou Jones and Albert Simmons; grandparents, Retha Mae Melton, Roy Jones, and Ivory and Idelia Simmons; son, Benard Curry; uncles, Harry Simmons and Earl Simmons.

He will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Shanavia Jones, Ashley Horne, and Latrelle Harris; grandchildren, A'yanna Jones, Ashaunti Horne and Amauri Horne; siblings, Merrie Simmons (Eric), Allen Simmons (Tracie), and Omar Simmons (Anya); aunts, Jeanette Roberts (Raymond), Pearlie Melton, Gwen Kibler, Elizabeth Simmons, and Maxine Simmons; uncles, David Jones (Alma), Leroy Jones (Ritchie), Willie Melton, Cornelius Melton, Ellis Simmons (Jessie), and Derrel Simmons (Claudia); and countless other relatives and friends.
