Alma Priscilla Devoe

Alma Priscilla Devoe was born on February 22, 1935 to Mrs. Elizabeth Ross Devoe and Mr. Andrew Devoe, Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local schools of Duval County graduating from Stanton High School in 1952.

Alma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, who cared for many people. She was employed by the Duval School Board system for fifty-six years, among the schools were Robert E. Lee High School and Hyde Park Elementary in the Cafeteria. She made sure every child had a meal. No one left the school hungry.

Alma Priscilla Devoe was received in Heaven on Saturday, August 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Devoe, Sr.; mother, Elizabeth Ross Devoe; her oldest son, Geary L. Thomas; a granddaughter, Starsheeda N. Thomas; six brothers; and five sisters.

Alma leaves behind her son, Dana Devoe; her daughters, Wanda Devoe, Loreen Devoe, Cheryl Counts and Robin Devoe; thirteen grandchildren, Rasheeda (Bland), Markeeda, Tawanna (David), Herbert, Shakita, Rodney (Melissa), Keith (Shawntel), Britney, Danielle (Bernard), Terrance, Brandi (Donovan), Huston and Raven; twenty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
