Alvin Dale Murray, Sr., born on October 11, 1955, in Branford, Florida to Robert Lee Murray, Sr. and Rosa Lean Graham, he peacefully passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Alvin, a proud veteran, served in the United States Airforce for twenty years.
Alvin had a fulfilling career journey. While in high school, he worked for Duval Motors, and upon retiring from the Airforce, he dedicated seven years to the United States Postal Service.
A man of many passions, Alvin enjoyed fishing, traveling, carpentry, working out at the gym, and martial arts. He found solace and community in his Christian faith, being a non-denominational "Man of God," raised in a Christian church near his home.
Alvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty-six years, Crystal Yvette Joynes-Murray; his son, Adrian M. Murray (Andrea); his daughter, Monique C. Murray; grandchildren, Gavyn McDonald, Caleb Murray, Deja Murray, Devante Murray, Sierra Murray, Quanteria Murray, Shakeria Murray, Shanika Murray, and Timothy Murray; siblings, Gordon Murray, Nathan Scott Murray, Carmen Torres-McGriff, and Julia Torres; in-laws, Cecil B. Joynes, Jr., James Joynes, and Peter Joynes; aunts, Lillie Mae Graham, Margarette Murray, Estelle Murray, Betsy Lee Murray, Patricia A. Jarrell-Murray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Murray, Sr.; mother, Rosa Lean Graham; son, Alvin Murray, Jr.; brothers, Robert Lee Murray, Jr., Thomas Murray, and Fred Murray; father-in-law, Cecil B. Joynes, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Dorine Joynes-Brown.
Alvin Dale Murray, Sr., will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
