Amy Hill Jackson was born on April 1, 1946 to the late Willie Lee Hill and J.B. Laman. She died on October 14, 2021, after battling a long illness. A life-long resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Amy was educated in the Duval County public school system.
She worked many years for Ja-Ru, Inc., and was an active and tireless volunteer and advocate for prison ministries until her health failed. Amy was a loyal member of Greater Israel United Missionary Baptist Church.
Amy is survived by her children, Lolita Hill, Gary Hill, Martella Moore, Sr., Doris Jackson, Stephanie Jackson, and Wanisia Carroll, who was like a daughter.; siblings: Barbara McKnight, Rueben Brooks (Michelle), Coleman Williams, Mary Espy, Veronica Jones, Annette Dawson (Darrell), and Nancy Hill; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.
