Anita LaFaye "Faye" Harris, aged 61, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born on July 26, 1964, Faye was a cherished member of her community and a successful business owner, dedicating many years to her childcare business which provided a nurturing environment for countless children.
Faye was a woman of many passions. She loved to shop, finding joy in the simple pleasure of discovering new treasures. Cooking was another of her favorite pastimes, and she delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends.
Faye had a deep appreciation for historical events and black history, often sharing this knowledge during family gatherings. Traveling was also a significant part of her life, allowing her to explore new places and experience different cultures.
Faye leaves behind her loving husband, Purnell Harris; sons, Clarence Watson (Deriale), Gregory Watson, and DeAngeles Harris; grandchildren, Kimora Watson, DeAngeles Harris and Korey Harris; siblings, Kimberly McClendon (Anthony), Cheryl Watson, Daryl Watson, William Watson, Anthony Watson (Yolanda) and Randy Watson (Linda); mother-in-law, Brenda “Beverly” Allen; brother-in-law, Howard Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends. Faye was preceded in death by her son, Korey Watson; her mother, Clara Wright; her father, Willie Watson; sister, Nikita McLeod; and her brothers, Clarence Jones and Greg Watson.
Faye's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her business, and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, commitment, and generosity that will be cherished by her family and remembered by her community.
