It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Autumn Iona Salmon, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who left this world on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on January 28, 1983, in Dallas, Texas, Autumn's life was a tapestry of kindness, joy, and unwavering faith, woven together through her relationships and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
Autumn was the cherished daughter of James and Bennie Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, James Jones, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. Autumn's mother, Bennie Tillman, survives her, as do her beloved husband, Marcel Salmon, and their two precious children, Josiah and Grace. Autumn was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother, who dedicated herself to raising her children with love, patience, and wisdom.
In her youth, Autumn attended Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated in the class of 2001. She continued her education at Liberty University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, a reflection of her commitment to lifelong learning and self-improvement. Following her academic pursuits, she enlisted in the United States Navy in 2001, proudly serving her country and exemplifying the spirit of dedication and duty.
For the past sixteen years, Autumn worked at the Mayport Naval Station as a Personal Support Specialist, where she was known for her compassionate approach and her ability to connect with those around her. Her colleagues and friends remember Autumn for her positivity and her willingness to lend a helping hand, and her impact in the workplace was profound and lasting.
Autumn's faith was at the center of her life. She served as a Holly Master for the Church of God in Christ during her childhood, a role that shaped her values and her commitment to serving the Lord. Her love for singing, playing the diamonds, and her unwavering dedication to her faith were hallmarks of her vibrant personality. Autumn approached life with a joyful spirit, and she inspired others with her uplifting presence and her ability to find beauty in the everyday moments.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and connection, surviving her are her siblings, Kelli Donell, Christina McPeters, and Brooke McGowan, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends who will forever cherish her memory. Autumn's warm smile and gentle heart touched countless lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we remember Autumn Iona Salmon, let us celebrate the love she shared, the laughter she brought into our lives, and the faith she embodied. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us as we carry her memory forward.
