Barbara Janet (Mercer) Dansey

Barbara Janet Mercer-Dansey was born August 31, 1938 to the late Jesse James and Minnie Lee Mercer. She grew up in the “Mixon Town” area and attended the local schools.

Barbara was joined in Holy Matrimony to James R. Dansey (Freddie) who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Leon Harvey. Barbara departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

Barbara leaves to mourn her passing but to cherish her memories, her grandson, Richard Alton Harvin; brothers, Rudolph Mercer (Karen), Willie James Mercer and Melvin Mercer; sisters, Leatrice Harris (Randolph), Fay Stoutamire (Alphonso) and Carol Roberts; goddaughter, Cynthia Perry Nickles; special friend, Marvin McBride; special nieces and nephews, Tiffany Williams, JuWan Fisher, Michael Bailey, Seanquaila Mercer and Brooke Hutchinson; and a host of  other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many devoted friends.
