Barbara Kilpatrick Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Kilpatrick was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 4, 1945 to parents Marie and Elisha Horne Sr. As the first child and eldest daughter, she attended and graduated from Central High School where at the age of 16 she met Sidney Kilpatrick, Jr. “The One and Only Love of Her Life”.  Barbara and Sidney lived fruitfully dedicated to each other in a life-long marriage for over 53 Years.   

After Barbara’s husband retired from the United States Navy in the early 80’s, they resided in Jacksonville Beach, FL where they raised three strong, intelligent young men. She also worked as a loyal employee with Winn Dixie Supermarket for over 20 years. On July 8, 2020, Barbara passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her parents, and her beloved sister, Mrs. Yvonne Horne Barnett.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband and soulmate, Sidney Kilpatrick, Jr.; three children, Gregory Dion Kilpatrick (Melanie), Marcus Duane Kilpatrick (Christina), and Christopher Darnell Kilpatrick (Brandy) all of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Caitlynn Marie (21 yrs. old), Emilee Nicole (14 yrs. old), Sidney Alexis (13 yrs. old), Mia Danielle (11 yrs. old), Jordan Turner (6 yrs. old), and Kayden Elisha (6 yrs. old) all of Jacksonville, FL; eight sisters, Marie Wilson, Patricia Tucker (Marvin), Catherine Randolph (Alfred Jr.), Ethel Horne, Sherry Horne, Gwendolyn Murphy (Lawrence), and Mary Pickens (Samuel) all of Mobile, AL; three brothers, Elisha Horne, Jr., Milton Horne (Tonya), and Reginald Horne (Rhonda) all of Mobile, AL; and a host of cousins, nieces, and other relatives and friends and most importantly, a devoted best friend of 45 years, Mrs. Delores Green.
