Carlene Spencer, a loving and caring woman, slept away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on January 30, 1945, in Dothan, Alabama, to James Hutchinson and Willene Price Hutchinson, who preceded her in death.
Carlene dedicated her life to serving others. She worked as a hardworking woman for Duval County Public Schools and also served as a foster parent for over twenty-five plus years. In addition, she was a successful business owner, running her own Adult Family Care Home.
Carlene was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Robert E. Herring, Sr., where she found solace and spiritual guidance.
Carlene cherished her family and leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her children, Regina Powers, Melissa Corley, Amir Ali-Roderick, and Monica Fields. She also leaves behind her siblings, Genesis Fields, Sylvester Hudson, and Roosevelt Hutchinson (Nora), along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and many sorrowing friends.
Carlene Spencer will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, dedication, and loving nature will forever be remembered and cherished.
