Carol Ann Hampton-Owens affectionately known as “Fashion” by her granddaughter Jazzy was born in Mullins, South Carolina on February 13, 1968 to the proud parents of Beatrice Hampton Banks and Sam Jenkins. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida at the age of three and she attended Duval local schools here in Jacksonville. Carol obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Carol was a devoted wife to Grant Owens for twenty-five years, mother and grandmother. She was employed at Deutsche Bank for over ten years but has been in the banking industry for over thirty-two years. Carol loved the Lord, she attended the Impact Christian Church, and she loved spending time with Family and Friends, a passion for travel, and watching TV.
Carol slept away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Hampton-Banks; father, Sam Jenkins; sister, Wanda Pittman; brother, Kerry Banks; grandmother, Lottie Hampton; uncles, Westley Hampton, Benjamin Hampton, Cecil Hampton and Willie Hampton; and father-in-law, Grant Owens, Sr..
Carol leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Grant Owens, Jr.; son, James Hampton (Autencia); grandchildren, Jahmichael Rivera, Jeremiah Hampton, Jeremy Hampton, and Jazmine Hampton; as a mom, Janie Lee Hampton-Davis; sister, Necole Ellison; adopted sister, Rose Nadine Denis; special mother-in-law, Dorothy Owens; brothers-in-law, Dexter Wilson, Jerome Owens and Jeffery Owens; sisters-in-law, Etta Owens and Gaye Owens; best friends, Carolyn Williams and Cherrie Labatte; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
