Carolyn Graham Obituary

Carolyn Collins Graham, affectionately known to many as “Cowgirl Sexy Cal”, lived a life rooted in love and family. Born on November 21st, 1947, in Valdosta, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Estelle Collins, Carolyn grew to be an adventurous and spirited cheerleader with a winning smile. She graduated in 1965 from Matthew W. Gilbert High School in Jacksonville, FL and later attended Edward Waters College where she continued to cheer and dazzle many with her smile and school spirit.

In 1972, Carolyn married the love of her life, Anthony Lewis Graham, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter with their three children. Carolyn and her loving family were members of Greater Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Carolyn found her life’s joy in loving her husband, children and grandchildren. Those who knew Carolyn, knew her love-language was feeding others. Every morsel spoke of her deep affection and the presentation displayed her immense care. Carolyn will be remembered for wholeheartedly celebrating holidays and milestones with her family and friends. She loved, she laughed, she cruised, she danced. Carolyn lived her beautiful life in her own beautiful, special way.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Estelle Collins; her devoted and loving husband, Anthony Lewis Graham; her grandsons, Anthony Charles Coleman (Trai) and Anthony Lewis Graham III (Mister); and lifelong friend, Juanita Burks.

Carolyn’s legacy continues through her children; daughter, Briggitte Coleman (Darrell); sons, Cornelious “Mann” Nelson (Tracy) and Anthony “Snook” Graham II; sister, Patricia Singleton; brother, Raymond “Al” Collins; grandchildren, Tennille Collins (Charles), Darrell Coleman (Ivana), La’Vell, Xavier Graham, Ambernie Graham, Micah Magwood, Noel Magwood, and Precious Magwood; great grandchildren, “Sir”Emory Dawston and Nayari Duval; sister-in-law, Phyllis D. General-Graham; nieces and nephews, Byron Robinson, Allegra Madison, Allana Hampton (Christopher), Tracy, Jovis, Raymond, Joey, Cheryl “Nookie”, Tegan, Cari, Christopher Jr (CJ), Caiden, Ivan, Latonya, Antoinette, Kenneth II, Byron, Jonathan, and Ashley; goddaughters, Angel and Twanya; childhood friends, Cynthia Ross, Barbara (Geri) Timmons and Bobby Walker; and a host of loving  cousins, friends, and church family.

Though Carolyn is no longer present with us in body, we will cherish the memory of how she brought life into every room she entered; and how in her latter years, her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and aunt who faithfully lifted her hands in praise to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
