Mrs. Carolyn Lynette Kirksey was born on November 16, 1953, to Donald and Johnnie King. She attended the local schools in Duval County.
Carolyn married Fredrick Kirksey. She worked for Mayport Naval Station for years. She started her spiritual growth at St. Paul AME Church in Mayport, Florida and finished her spiritual growth at The Bethel Church where she served on the Usher Board and worked in the clothing Ministry. Carolyn loved playing bingo and was a faithful giver to St. Jude Charity.
Mrs. Carolyn Lynette Kirksey slept away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Johnnie King; two sisters, Prudence Mitchell and Gwendolyn Kennerly; two brothers, Ronald “Man” King and Kenneth Knight.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband, Frederick Kirksey; her daughter, Jacqueline Lamar (Anthony); son, Alexander Brooks; grandchildren, Andre Young, Desmond Brooks, Tiara Brooks, Shayla Brooks and Terrell Brooks; great grandchildren, E’eryonya Houston, Keyera Blair, Ava Young and Andre Young, Jr.; one great-great grandson, Camauri Wright; siblings, Donald “Wonder” King, Andy King, Cecelia G. Love, Alvin Thomas, Otis Thomas and Gary Kearse; in-laws, the late Richard and Priscilla Kirksey; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
