Cherie Bevins Obituary

Ms. Cherie C. Bevins was born on August 28, 1947 to the late Edward and Nadine Blackman in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local schools of Duval County. She furthered he education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University from 1965 until 1968 and later at Biscayne College from 1978 until 1981 receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Cherie was employed with Florida Beverage Corporation from 1969 until 1988, Miami Gardens Reality from 1988 until 1989, HRS from 1989 until 1995 and finally with the Department of Disability Determination. She was a faithful member of Light of the World Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Ernest Berrian. She enjoyed cooking, singing, sewing and making floral arrangements.  

Cherie answered the Master’s called peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nadine Blackman.

Cherie leaves to mourn her passing but to cherish her memories, her daughter, Felicia Spears (Tony); son, Everett Bevins (Wendy Walston); grandchildren, Britney Bevins and Alexis Bates (Bonn); great grandchildren, Jaden Bevins, Ivan Bevins, Gavin Bevins, Delvin Taylor and Alana Bates; special friends, Altamese Matthews, Karen Arnold, Eutheria Neal, Velma Fulger, Betty Stephens,, Gene McCrae and Eldridge White; and a host of a nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
