Cheryl Austin-Robinson Obituary

Cheryl Austin Robinson aka “BeBe” was born on December 18, 1956 to Robert Lee Austin, Sr. and Geraldine Cleveland. She attended local public schools of Duval County and graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High class of 1975 where she played basketball with the Trojans. After graduating from high school BeBe worked at the Duval County School Board, several daycares, Aramark and the Jacksonville Housing Authority.  She also had her own private daycare and she sold dinners. 

BeBe enjoyed cooking, decorating, painting, music, grilling, feeding others and helping others, barbequing and sharing recipes. She also enjoyed staying home and spending time with her family and friends. 

BeBe assisted her parents with raising her younger siblings.  She also played a major role in raising most her nieces and nephews.

BeBe accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Grace Baptist Church East in Springfield of Jacksonville, Florida. 

BeBe was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonzer Robinson Sr.; son, Alfonzer Robinson, Jr.;  father, Robert Lee Austin, Sr.; mother, Geraldine Sassnett Cleveland; stepfather, Grady Lee Sassnett, Sr.; grandmother, Catherine “Cat” Jones; brother, Robert” Whoopa “ Austin, Jr.; sisters, Ollie “Lisa” Austin Houston and Kim Sassnett Hudson; nephews, Gerald Lee Banks, Sr. and Melvin “Buddy “ Dallas III.

On Monday August 17, 2020, “BeBe” transitioned to Glory. God, in His infinite wisdom chose “BeBe for his own.  Her memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted family, three sons Antonio “Tony” Austin (Cheryl), Alton Robinson and DeShawn Robinson; four granddaughters, Antoniesha Austin, Brai Robinson Gerrica Tutson and Jermanique Washington; one grandson, Coreyian Garvin; one great granddaughter, Faith Drinks; two brothers, Donnie Sassnett and Grady (Carrie) Sassnett; six sisters, Sheree Faulk (Maurice), Tammy Sassnett, Gracie Sassnett (Michelle), Cynthia Austin Hardwick, Lorraine Clements and Karen Dallas (Melvin); two brothers-in-law, Thomas Robinson (Lucy) and Larry Hudson, Sr. one sister-in-law; Erline Robinson; great aunt, Mattie Gates; four uncles, Terry Austin, Terrell Sherman, Edward Sassnett, Sr. and Horace Sassnett; six aunts, Geraldine Austin, Odessa Williams (Art), Mary Sassnett, Gwen Sassnett, Christine Smith (Jerry),  Lelia Henley and Theresa Little (Sylvester); a committed niece, LaShana Porter Hagan; three dedicated and loyal friends, Ruby Lee Jordan, Jacqueline Cook and Johnny G.; 18 nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, great nieces, great nephews, friends and neighbors.
