Cheryl Brown Obituary

Cheryl Ann Brown was born on October 22, 1960 in Miami, Florida to the proud parents of Lois Outlaw and John Spates. She attended the local schools of Duval County graduating from Samuel W. Wolfson High School class of 1979.

Cheryl met the love of her life, James Brown and was united in Holy Matrimony. She was employed at Jacksonville University as a Patient Representative. Cheryl enjoyed shopping and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Cheryl Ann Brown departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Outlaw; father, John Spates, Sr.; son, James Taylor; brother, John Spates, Jr.; and grandmother, Altamease Robertson.  

Cheryl will be lovely remembered and never forgotten by, her husband of 35 years, James Brown; children, Stephanie Mann and LaTeshia Taylor; daughter-in-law, LaTonya Taylor; grandchildren, Stephanie, Terrence, James, Tyronica, Eboni, and Shumbae; five great grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Spates, Sr. (Cora), Denise Barnes (Kenny), Stephan Spates and Tonya Outlaw; in-laws, Dan Brown (Cecilia), Sharon Wilson, Maria Annette Copeland, Angela Brown, Vanessa Brown, Sylvia Brown, Alonzo Brown (Theresa) and Patricia Bates (Anthony); godmother, Cynthia Edwards; god-siblings, Tracy, Phaedra and Andre; devoted friends, Ali Green and Mel Waters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.
