Cheryl Denise Wiggins

Cheryl Denise Wiggins was born May 5, 1960 to James Brown Adams and Thelma Louise Sheppard-Wyche in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her formal education in the Public Schools of Duval County graduating from Samuel W. Wolfson High School. She furthered her education with Advance Career Training in Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up she was raised by Josephine Sheldon and Dan Sheldon and she spoke fondly of them.

Cheryl was united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Wiggins, Sr. on November 5, 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was employed with McDonald’s for nineteen years then later joined Body Central. She was a member of Saint Nichola Bethel Baptist Church on San Diego Road. Cheryl loved spending time with her grandchildren and showing off her family on Facebook.  

Cheryl Denise Wiggins went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Brown Adams and Thelma Louise Sheppard-Wyche; daughter, Melody; grandson, Ky’El; and sister, Kathy.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Melvin Wiggins, Sr.; children, JaKara Sutherland (Neil), and Melvin Wiggins, Jr.; grandchildren, Hector, Hadieya, Isaiah, Nadia, Nala, Jadon, Xavier, Shamari, Kavon and Nasiah; mother-in-law, Lorena Wiggins; momma Gloria; siblings, Gail, Rosa, Carla, Joann, Samantha, Bobby, Terrance and Clarence; in-laws, Rudine, Essie, Walter and David; special names, Doris, Gail, Nellie, Bruce, Ms. Toni and Chekita; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
