With deep love and heartfelt sorrow, we celebrate the life of Christopher Charles Forrest, a cherished son, brother, partner, and friend whose warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched every life he encountered.
Christopher was born on December 19, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his early years in Astoria, Queens, later moving with his family to Baldwin, New York, then Monticello, New York, before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2000.
Christopher filled the lives of those around him with laughter. His unforgettable sense of humor and the sound of his laughter could brighten even the heaviest day. Some of the most treasured memories include trips to the World Trade Center area, where he joyfully rode his bike, and the pride he took in his beloved red electric car. He loved learning, especially with Hooked on Phonics—and enjoyed dressing up in a suit and tie, standing tall, and feeling all grown up.
Christopher had a generous heart. Whenever he had money, he made sure to buy gifts for his loved ones. His kindness, love, and thoughtfulness left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
He is preceded in passing by his older brother, Halston Forrest, and leaves behind his loving mother, Beverly Forrest; his siblings, Larry McCoy, Natasha McCoy, Michael Forrest, and Rahnashon Harris; and his devoted companion of nearly 17 years, Shellnardria Benefield.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Christopher held positions at McDonald’s in his youth and later at Lowe’s, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and kind nature.
Though his life was far too short, Christopher’s memory will forever live in the hearts of his family and all who loved him. His laughter, warmth, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
He was loved dearly and will be deeply missed by his grandmother, Gladys Kabitzke; grandfather, Ron Kabitzke; aunt, Joycee; uncle, Walter; uncle, Korain Savlowitz; and a host of cousins, friends, and extended family.
May he rest in eternal peace.
