Clyde Wright, Jr. affectionately called “Teddy Boy” was born on October 27, 1933 to Clyde and Ruth Wright both preceding him in death. Clyde transitioned this life on December 31, 2020 with complications from COVID-19. Clyde attended the local public schools, graduating from Stanton H.S. in 1951. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Clyde served in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged he met and married Gwendolyn and to this union was born their son, Michael Anthony both preceding him in death.
Clyde enjoyed a love for people and had an entrepreneurial spirit. He worked many years in the beauty supply industry. He attained top salesman status often while employed by the newly formed Bronner Brothers Beauty Supply Company, Atlanta, GA. After returning to Jacksonville Clyde ventured out and opened his own beauty supply company Wright’s Beauty Supplies. After closing that business Clyde continued to work in the beauty sales and service industry.
Clyde sister and brothers preceding him in death are, Barbara Wright, Clifford Wright, Donald Wright, Ralph Wright and Jerry Wright.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Sheldon Wright (Florence); sisters, Eleanor Johnson and Beverly Wright; nephews, Larry White (Denise), Gregory White, Randy White (Selena), Frank Wright, Jr. (deceased), Dwayne Wright, Derrick Wright, Larry Wright (Christie), Kelvin Lawton, Kenneth Lawton and Javon Wright; nieces, Patricia Smith, Molly Dunham (Jerome), Sylvia White, Cheryl White, Janice White, Teslyn White, Kimberly White, Latasha Jones, Crystal Allen and Sabrina Wright; and a host of cousins and friends.
