Courtney McCullough Obituary

Courtney McCullough, who God called home on July 10, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on August 3, 1993, Courtney was a loving daughter to Derek McCullough and Revon McGrier. Courtney was a dedicated mother who found joy in taking care of her kids and creating a loving home for her family.

Known for her talent as a hairstylist and hair braider, Courtney worked passionately in her profession, bringing happiness and confidence to all her clients. She knew how to bring true beauty out of others. She studied at The Broach High School, where she developed her skills and flourished in her craft.

Courtney had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time outdoors, soaking in the sunshine and beauty of nature. She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm smile, and caring nature with a mouth of a sailor.

Despite her battle with breast cancer, Courtney faced each day with courage and grace, never losing her strength or spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Courtney was preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara McCullough; sister, Shantel Miller; aunt, LaTasha McGrier; and stepfather, Johnathan Walker.

Courtney leaves to cherish in her loving memory four beautiful children, Demetrius McSwain Jr., Demi McCullough, Amiya Merriweather, and Alayah Merriweather; parents, Revon McGrier and Derek McCullough (Tonya); sisters and brothers, Janay McCullough, Brittany McCullough, Derek McCullough Jr., and Jonathan Walker II; other loving family members and friends, Shanai’ “Tutu” Stockling, Shantay King, Kayla Prince, Tierra George, Anthony Davis, Liddell McGrier Jr., Cedric Thomas, Rashad Filmore, Cameron George, Jakarri George, ShaTierea Harden, Tinesha Backey, TyJia Backey, Jimetra Gigi West, Brittney “Piggy” Haywood, Skye Thorpe, Ashanti Jones, Alexis Paul, and Alexis Wiggins; devoted partner, Arnold Merriweather; grandparents, Yolanda Menendez (Sweeny) and Liddell McGrier; host of aunts and uncles, Liddell McGrier Sr. (Latonya), Gloria (Dano), Valeria Benbow (Frank Swain) ,John Fitzgerald, Latriece Benbow (Eduardo), Teresa, Trina, Petronia Tina Vesley, Ethel “Candy” Allen , Juantia Crews, Kenya Jones, Kristal Todd and Barbara Coleman; godparents, Tara Stockling, Nat Davis, Chantel Osborne, and Angela Lewis; longtime best friends, Nataria “Tiaa” Clark, Neek Neek and Tia
