Cynthia Louise Pough was born August 30, 1960 to the late Mary Walker and Reginald Ferguson. Cynthia was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 1, 2020.
Cynthia was affectionately known as “Pooka” by her grandchildren and “Shug” by her husband. Cynthia loved God and was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Dr. Gary L. Williams, Sr. Pastor, for thirty years where she faithfully served on the Hands of Love Senior Outreach Ministry (HOLSOM). She loved working with the seniors at her church.
Cynthia worked at Mayo Clinic for twenty years and was employed at UF Shands for the past 16 years. Cynthia loved taking care of others. She was the care giver for her oldest niece Gwendolyn Sims for the past two and half years. Cynthia loved to travel and often had to convince her family members to join in on her many excursions. She loved to have a good time and was the life of the party. She was referred to as the Social Butterfly of the family. Her smile was contagious, if you ever had a day of gloom and ran into her, she would definitely brighten it up.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Larry Pough; daughters, Jackie Butler and Katherine Butler-Field; her three grandchildren, Jaliyah, Kanara and Sebastian; sister, Lisa Jefferson (Lawrence); brothers, Owen Robinson and Patric Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family members and friends including her BFF, Nadine Reese and family friend, Curtis Butler.
Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Northside is serving the family.
