Cynthia Badger Simmons

April 13, 1963 ~ December 4, 2018 (age 55) 55 Years Old

Cynthia Margaret Badger was born on April 13, 1963 to Lorenzo and Thelma Badger. She was educated by the Duval County Public Schools graduating from William M Raines Senior High School class of 1981. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Cynthia was employed by the city of Jacksonville as a Clerical Supervisor, she retired on May 14, 2016 after 32 years.

Cynthia accepted Christ at an early age, she grew up in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor John A. Gadling, she became a member of Faith Tabernacle of Praise Ministry under the leadership of Dr. Larry and Dr Bonnie Mitchell in 1993 until the present.

Cynthia married her friend, classmate and soulmate Norris Simmons on February 21, 2004, they were inseparable, the true definition of LOVE!

On December 4, 2018, God saw fit to call Cynthia home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Badger; her brother, Lorenzo Kerry Badger; and 3 sisters, Barbara Bryant, Carolyn Giles and Eunice Alston.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Norris Simmons; mother, Thelma Badger; sisters Glenda Jones (Bobie), Loretta Wright (King), Cartonya Badger and Elaine Clayton (Prentis); brothers and sisters in-law, Betty Clark (Ron), Charles Simmons (Willie Mae), Eddie Simmons, Kimberly Quantance (Bobby), Morris Simmons (Donna), Ernest Simmons and Kathy Simmons; aunts and uncles, John Bacon, Evelyn Flynn (Willie), Alvie Bacon, Carretta Stewart, Margaret Bartley (Rufus), Jean Gilmore (Nolan), Hazel Moses (Felton), Carolyn Bentley (Charles) and Jerldene Powell; nieces and nephews, Cherese, Bobie Jr., Kaven, Kyran, Lakeria, Wynter, Billy, Robin, Lachita, William, Erica, Niconya, Tory, Ray, Rhonda, Tameka, Terrance, Zayna, Morris Jr., Sheldon, Ebony, Shonda, Charles Jr., Latisha, Bobbi, Tiffany, Brittany, Shakira, Keenan, Sebastian, Neriya and Kerry; godsons, Taj and Kaven Jr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
