Deacon Eric Johnson Obituary

A True Servant of God, A Devoted Husband and Father

Eric Bernard Johnson was a man whose life reflected deep faith, unwavering love, and tireless sacrifice. A true servant of God, Eric walked in humility and purpose every single day—devoted first and foremost to his family and his faith.

He was the cherished husband of Margaret Johnson. Their marriage stood as a powerful testament to enduring love, strength, and partnership. Eric has five wonderful children, Kyrease, Devon, Remi, Faith (deceased), and Jonathan. He was a proud and dedicated father, guiding his children with quiet strength, heartfelt wisdom, and unconditional love.

Eric worked hard to provide for his family, often laboring six days a week. He was a skilled boat captain on a small ship and held a technical degree in Custom Collision. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and lived by the principle of “quality over quantity.” His passion for cars was not just a profession—it was a part of who he was.

His work ethic was second to none, but it was his character that truly set him apart. Eric never complained, no matter the hardship. He believed deeply that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning,” and he lived by that hope every day.

He served faithfully as a Deacon at Carpenter's House Church of God in Christ, where he was known for his humble heart, steady presence, and unwavering encouragement. He inspired his loved ones and church family alike, always urging others to stay strong in their faith and pursue their God-given calling.

Eric leaves behind his loving mother, Carol Robinson, and his siblings, Shaunterra (Brandon), Tyrone, Jacquana, Gallery (Jordon), Desmond (Saundra), Jessica, Dominque, and Latice. He is also survived by extended brothers, Kevin and James; one niece; six nephews; and a host of in-laws, family, and friends who loved him dearly.

Eric Bernard Johnson leaves a legacy of love, integrity, and faith. He was the best father his children could ask for and the most devoted husband a woman could ever be blessed to love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in every life he touched. Please continue to keep our family in prayer as we honor and celebrate his life.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5
