Deacon Freddie L. Blackshear was the eighth child of ten born to the late Shellie and Mary Ellen Blackshear. He was born on July 30, 1934 in Dawson, Georgia. He answered his Heavenly Fathers call on Monday, October 19, 2020.
Freddie attended Terrell County Public Schools in Dawson, Georgia. He later moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1952 and worked as a Supervisor for Winn Dixie Bakery for 33 years. On March 1, 1980 Freddie married Bishop Lillie B. Brown. In 1981 he joined True Light of God in Christ Holy Family under the leadership of his wife where he was the first Deacon of True Life where he served faithfully until his health started to fail.
Deacon Freddie leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Bishop Lillie B. Blackshear; his three sons, Gregory Blackshear, Edwin Blackshear and Kenneth Blackshear; nine daughters, Geri Crumley (John), Elder Harriett Wynn, Evangelist Sharon Clements (Ennis), Gail Peterson, Faye Poythress (Kenneth), Rhonda Williams, Carla Brown, Lyllian Blackshear and Frechauan Blackshear; his grandchildren, John M. Crumley, Li Andra Smith, Rahsahan Ackerman, Elder Gianni Crumley and Shannon Ackerman; 21 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; his brother, James Blackshear; two brothers-in-law, Reverend Ronald Brown (Carolyn) and Arthur Brown; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Maddox and Thelma Blackshear; his favorite nephews, Robert Blackshear, Joseph Williams, Roger Blackshear, Jr. (Cheryl), Joe Blackshear (Jackie) and Kenneth Meeks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and many sorrowing friends.
