Jesse McMillan was born in Jacksonville, Florida, Duval County on January 2, 1951, to Evelyn Green-McMillan and Marion McMillan. At an early age, Jesse accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was baptized and became a member of Union Community A.M.E. Church, Jacksonville, Florida.
Jesse completed his formal education in Duval County schools and Stanton Vocational High School. He continued his education later in life and received a BS Degree in Religious Studies from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.
He joined Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in 2007. He was a faithful servant of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church for over 13 years. He was active in church and was always willing to help out where he could. He loved teaching Sunday School attending Bible Study and Ushering. On May 16, 2016, he was ordained as a Deacon by the Reverend Phillip A. Spann.
He worked at Atlantic Beach Elementary School, Brookview Elementary School and Walmart until his death.
On November 18, 2021, while resting at home, Jesse peacefully made his transition to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Marion McMillan; and brother, Norman E. Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter: Latonia Wilson (Woodrow) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Jennifer Weaver (Willie) of Fayetteville, NC; grandson, Woodrow Hilton McMillan Wilson; nephews, Wendell Weaver and Cedric Weaver; grandnephew, Caleb Weaver; grandniece, Ciara Weaver; special daughters, Charlotte Williams and Ebony Benjamin; special names, Mr. & Mrs. Irv Adams, Pastor Steve Wise, Regina Williams, and Barbara Grimsley; and a host of other relatives including NY-NC-FL family members and friends too numerous to mention.
