Johnnie Ray Wallace, Jr. was born June 27, 1941, to the union of Annie Mae and John Roy Wallace. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his family as a young child.

Johnnie accepted Christ and was baptized at Royal Tabernacle Baptist Church. Johnnie received his education at Stanton Vocational School. After graduating from Stanton, he worked at the City of Jacksonville in Street and Highways Department. He also drove cabs and buses while working with the city and after retirement. Johnnie met his wife Flossie Wallace in Jacksonville, Florida and spent over 65 years together.

During his life he enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins football game and serving as a Deacon at Royal Tabernacle Baptist Church. He loved laughing and joking with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.

Johnnie departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie M. Wallace; his children, Larry, Morris, David, and Johnnie Jr.; his mother, Annie Mae; father, John Roy; siblings, Janie Mae Stafford, Vera Crittendon, Eva Mae Asberry, Marie Collins, Ruthie Lee, Juanita Green and James Crittendon; and in-laws, Geneva, Cleotha, Sarah, Julian, Queen, Irene, Eva Jean and Jimmy.

He leaves to cherish his sister, Ada; children, Fareed “Freddie” (Stephanie), Joann, Vernon (Rhonda), Jauron (April), and Janean; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and abundance of friends.
