Deaconess Diane Joyce Anderson-Seymore Knight was born on July 16, 1951 to Susie Mildred Johnson Williams and Willie Leroy Anderson in Jacksonville, Florida. She was adopted by Elder Mamie Elvira Floyd Seymore and Deacon Richard Seymore. She attended Oakland Elementary School, Jacksonville Beach Elementary School, Susie Tolbert and Douglas Anderson. She furthered her education at Jones College.
Diane met and married Clarence D. Rodger, she later married Reverend Paul James Knight and to this union four children were born. She was a CNA for a few years and a receptionist. She also was a school bus driver for Duval County Public Schools for over 25 plus years.
She received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at an early age. Diane was a member of the Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth Holiness Chapel for many years. She served on the Usher Board, in the choir, Pastor Aid and many other positions. She later joined New Community Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess. Diane then joined the Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth Cosmo and now Arlington under the leadership of Elder Jeff Dixon.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jacqueline Joyce Knight; her granddaughter, Karolyn Seymore; brothers, James Taylor, Rodger Taylor, Leon Williams, Alvin Williams and Melvin Anderson.
Diane leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her husband, Reverend Paul J. Knight; her children, Christine Johnson, Richard Seymore (Kathryn), Mamie James (Leonard) and Gwendolyn Knight; grandchildren, La’Vasha Knight, Robert Knight (Kimesha), Sir’Eric Gross (Jah’keysia), SaMarya Seymore, Richard Seymore, II, James Seymore, Michael James, Michelle James, Genesis James, Xavier Hardnett and Xaria Hardnett; great grandchildren, Aviyanna Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Jaylen Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Isaiah Knight, Za’Maya Knight, Ja’Marcus Knight, Demaryius Knight, and Zah’Riyah Knight; step-mother, Mother Mary Laster; siblings, Draydine Oliver, Cynthia Clark, Vanessa Nesbitt, Jacqueline Thomas, Rev. Chauncey Johnson (Corinne), Leroy Williams (Loretta), Richard Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Roderick Anderson and Terry Anderson; godchildren, Regina Smith, Tonisha Logan, Missionary Regina Covin, Bruce Cohen, Jr., Willard Brown, William Brown, George Sapp, Karlica Knight; close cousin, Deloris Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, close friends and many sorrowing friends.
