Deaconess Emeritus Sarah L. Robinson was born on November 13, 1936 to Johnnie and Ruby Hardy in Dublin, Georgia. Sarah was the oldest of nine children. Later on, Sarah moved to Jacksonville, Florida along with her family. Sarah attended and graduated from Stanton High School.
Sarah met and fell in love with Roosevelt Robinson. The two became one in marriage and were blessed with three sons. Sarah was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church where she remained faithful until her health prevented her from serving.
Sarah worked as a court reporter and retired to stay home to raise her sons. Sarah enjoyed giving her time and love to those in need. Sarah was also an accomplished seamstress.
Deaconess Emeritus Sarah L. Robinson slept away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Robinson; son, Elder Christopher Robinson; grandson, Johnathan Griffin; parents, Johnnie and Ruby Hardy; and brothers, Alvie Lee Hardy and Oscar Hardy.
Sarah leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Deacon Charles D. Robinson (Roslyn) and Minister Avery T. Robinson; grandchildren, Chaderick Robinson, Christopher Elliott, Roderick Robinson, Dr. Alesha Maury (Johnny), Crystal Robinson and Charles “CJ” Robinson, Jr.; brothers, Hurshel Hardy, Eugene Hardy (Julie) and Deacon Rickey Hardy (Daisy); sisters, Johnnie Mae Stewart, Joann Hardy and Teresa Hunter (Christopher); daughters-in-law, Damita Robinson and Ida Robinson; brother-in-law, Leonard Robinson; sisters-in-law, Agnes Carlos, Queen Laprade, Delores Robinson, Linda Robinson and Rose Hardy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and many sorrowing friends.
